One Saturday every October, Asbury Avenue closes from 5th to 14th Street and turns into the Fall Block Party: vendor tents, food, music, and most of the town walking. Our house is two blocks from Asbury at 12th. You walk over, you walk back, the car never moves.
The weekend
Friday check-in at 4pm, the Block Party on Saturday from the morning, a beach walk after (no tags needed in October), dinner downtown or on the boardwalk, and a Sunday morning before checkout at 10am. Two nights, cleaning included, on our weekends board.
Friday evening on the deck, Saturday on Asbury Avenue, Sunday morning on the sand. Beach tags are not required after Labor Day, the ocean is usually still in the high 60s in early October, and leashed dogs are allowed on the beach from October 1, so this is one of the best weekends of the year to bring yours (the pet fee is $100 a stay).
